The Martyrdom of Holy Saint Ephraim of Nea Makri
A dear friend brought to church today an icon for the Sunday of Orthodoxy icon procession which arrested my eye, and as I examined it, I felt it must be of the martyrdom of St Ephraim of Nea Makri. My friend confirmed that it was, and I was later able to find the image online, together with an icon of St Ephraim with scenes from his life. I am posting these two icons below, and adding them to my special post on St Ephraim, and invite you to learn about this newly-revealed holy one who suffered and was martyred under the Muslim Turks during the Ottoman tyranny.
