Raymond Ibrahim: 'Why Easter Brings Out the Worst in Islam'

"Growing numbers of Muslims appear to agree with the view voiced by one Egyptian cleric that 'Christian worship is worse than murder and bloodshed' —meaning, shedding the blood of Christians and murdering them is preferable to allowing them to flaunt their opposition to Muhammad’s teachings, as they naturally do every Sunday in church. Only more doctrinally attuned Muslims, who are in the minority, save their attacks for that one day of the year that so flagrantly defies Islam: Resurrection Sunday."

Why Easter Brings Out the Worst in Islam
by Raymond Ibrahim, April 17, 2017:

Why are some Christians murdered and many more terrorized in the name of Islam every Easter holiday?

Thomas's confession of faith in the Risen Christ, 'My Lord and my God!', provokes Muslims to kill Christians and bomb churches at Easter, and on other major Christian feasts.

This year’s most notable attack occurred in Egypt, where two Coptic Christian churches were bombed during Palm Sunday mass, leaving 50 dead and 120 injured.

While this incident received some coverage in Western media, attacks on churches in Egypt on or around Easter are not uncommon. For instance, this last April 12, just two days after the Palm Sunday attacks, authorities thwarted another Islamic terror attack targeting a Coptic monastery in Upper Egypt. Similarly, on April 12, 2015, Easter Sunday, two explosions targeting two separate churches took place in Egypt.

Although no casualties were reported—hence no reporting in Western media—large numbers could easily have resulted, based on precedent (for example, on January 1, 2011, as Egypt’s Christians ushered in the New Year—another Christian holiday for Orthodox communities—car bombs went off near the Two Saints Church in Alexandria, resulting in 23 dead worshippers and dozens critically injured).

Less spectacular but no less telling, after 45 years of waiting, the Christians of Nag Shenouda, Egypt, finally got a permit to build a church; local Muslims responded by rioting and even burning down the temporary tent the Copts had erected to worship under (a different incident from this similar one). Denied, the Christians of Nag Shenouda celebrated Easter in the street, to Muslims jeers and sneers (picture here)

While almost anything can provoke Muslims around the world to attack churches, there is a reason that the animus can reach a fever pitch during Easter: more than any other Christian holiday, Resurrection Sunday commemorates and celebrates three central Christian doctrines that Islam manifestly rejects: that Christ was crucified and died; that he was resurrected; and that by especial virtue of the latter, he is the Son of God. As Dr. Abdul Rahman al-Bir, Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood’s mufti said in 2013, Muslims must not commend Christians during Easter, for that holiday “contradicts and clashes with Islamic doctrine unlike Christmas.”

Christ is Risen! In TRUTH He is Risen!

The Incarnation of the Son of God, His crucifixion, death and burial, and His Resurrection on the Third Day, are true and actual historical events in God's plan of salvation for us.

Islam hates God and Jesus Christ, and so denies the Christian Revelation and fights against Christians. This proves its antichrist spirit.

Glory to Thy Holy Resurrection!
We worship Thy Third Day Resurrection!

We confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, and we stand in solidarity with our Christian brothers and sisters throughout the Islamic world who are being persecuted and killed by Muslims for their faith in Him. As the Lord Jesus teaches us:

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
"Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
"But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.

William Kilpatrick: On the Civilizational Struggle With Islam

Another landmark analysis of our war against Islam and the enemy of mankind, by the peerless, towering William Kilpatrick.

Some excerpts:

"We should want Muslims to be uncomfortable with their faith—uncomfortable to the point that they begin to doubt it...
"The sheer volume of Islamic violence is difficult to ignore. As a result, more and more people now realize that criticism and challenge of Islam is fully justified. They realize that it should be Muslims who are put on the defensive, not the so-called 'Islamophobes'...
"In a sane society, Islam and its representatives would be put on the defensive, not critics of Islam. Instead of exonerating Islam of responsibility for Islamic terror, non-Muslims should pressure Muslims to justify the tenets of Islam that call for violence."

Or urge them to repent, leave their barbaric and false religion, deny their bloodthirsty god and false prophet, and turn to Jesus Christ in the Orthodox Church.

On the Civilizational Struggle With Islam

by William Kilpatrick, Crisis Magazine, April 4, 2017:

In February, female members of an official Swedish delegation to Iran donned headscarves and long coats so as not to offend their Iranian counterparts. At about the same time, Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s National Front Party, cancelled a meeting with Lebanon’s Grand Mufti after he insisted that she wear a headscarf. “You can pass on my respects to the Grand Mufti,” said Le Pen, “but I will not cover myself up.”

The contrast neatly captures two different responses to the ongoing Islamization of Europe. Le Pen represents resistance, and the Swedish delegation represents appeasement. So far, the party of appeasement holds the upper hand. Shortly after her gesture of defiance, the European Parliament voted to lift Le Pen’s immunity from prosecution (as a Member of Parliament) for tweeting images of Islamic State violence. Like the Swedish delegates’ gesture of obeisance, this too is an act of appeasement. It signals to the Muslim world that Europeans will take it upon themselves to punish those who criticize Islam.

There may be cases where appeasement works to placate an enemy, but it never seems to work against an implacable foe. In May, 1938, while competing in Berlin, the English national football team gave the Nazi salute when the German national anthem was played. They did this, reluctantly, on orders from their own foreign office. It was one of numerous futile gestures of appeasement offered up to Hitler.

Some historians have suggested that Hitler could have been stopped if the Allied Powers had confronted him earlier before he had time to build up the Wehrmacht. That’s probably true. The best time to fight a war is while you still have a good chance of winning it. This applies also to the ideological struggle now going on between the West and Islam.

Egypt: Islamic State kills dozens of Christians in Palm Sunday church bombings

St Mark's Cathedral in Alexandria also bombed; Pope Tawadros reported to be 'safe'.

'Prayers up' for these newest Coptic Orthodox Martyrs under the sword of Islam, and our heartfelt prayers and sympathies for their families!

Time once again to ask Muslims The Question:
When will you finally see the madness and falsehood of your false prophet, your bloodthirsty god, and your false religion? Repent and flee to Jesus Christ that you may be saved! If you continue in Islam after seeing this unending hatred and bloodshed committed according to the commands of Allah and Muhammad, through the Koran and the Hadith, you have no excuse. You are mired in spiritual delusion and deception! Flee to Jesus Christ now that you may be saved!

Ominous proof of widespread Muslim support for the Islamic State and its bloodthirsty jihad against Christians:

Palm Sunday attacks: ISIS says it carried out bombings at churches in Egypt that killed at least 37
Fox News, April 9, 2017:

The ISIS terror group has claimed responsibility for two separate Palm Sunday bombing attacks at Coptic Christian churches in Egypt that have killed 37 people and injured more than 100.
The first blast happened at St. George church in the Nile Delta town of Tanta, where at least 26 people were killed and 71 others wounded, officials said.
Television footage showed the inside of the church, where a large number of people gathered around what appeared to be lifeless, bloody bodies covered with papers.

Islamic State celebrates St. Petersburg attack: 'A metro to hell for the worshipers of the Cross'

ISIS states, “We ask Allah to bless the operation by the lions of the Caliphate, we ask Allah to kill the Crusaders…a metro to hell for the worshipers of the Cross.”

Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch notes:

"Once again we see that the Islamic State casts its conflict with the nations of the world solely in Islamic terms. It has never done anything else. Yet in examining its motivations and ideology, Western analysts routinely dismiss Islam as a factor."

What will come of this? Let's not forget that unlike craven Western leaders (with the exception of US President Donald Trump, who will no doubt be similarly tested by a major Islamic terrorist attack on US soil), Russian President Vladimir Putin has no qualms about taking swift and decisive action against Islam. Recall that only a few years ago, Putin had Russian security arrest 300 Muslims in a preemptive crackdown on jihadis ahead of the 2014 Olympics, and has routinely rounded up dozens of Muslims at a time in anti-jihad raids over the years.

ISIS Celebrates St. Petersburg Metro Blast That Killed 10
by Shira Rubin and Gilad Shiloach, Vox, April 3, 2017:

ISIS supporters are celebrating two explosions on St. Petersburg subways that have killed at least 10 people and injured at least 20, according to Russian media reports.

“We ask Allah to bless the operation by the lions of the Caliphate, we ask Allah to kill the Crusaders,” said an ISIS supporter from the terror group’s al-Minbar online forum.

Others celebrated by saying that the Monday bombs made for “a metro to hell for the worshipers of the Cross” and claimed that the attacks — which are still under investigation by Russian authorities — were revenge for Russia’s backing of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who is fighting against ISIS and other rebel groups in a six-year-long civil war. Russian airstrikes and shelling in Syria have killed hundreds of people and reduced entire areas to rubble….

Islamic State hackers release ‘kill list’ with over 8000 targets in US, UK, cite Koran commands to kill non-Muslims

The specific phrasing in the message, “kill them wherever you find them”, is from the Koran (2:191; 4:89; 9:5), which, combined with Muhammad's bloody example of advancing Islam by the sword, is the main source and inspiration for the Islamic State/ISIS.

My message to Muslims: why do you persist in following a false prophet and a bloodthirsty false god who command killing and deny the truth about Jesus Christ? You are on the wrong side of history, and you are on the wrong side of eternity. See my special section for Muslims, repent and turn to Christ. He is waiting for you, and so are we!

Pro-ISIS hackers release ‘kill list’ with 8,786 targets in US, UK
by Cristina Corbin, Fox News, April 05, 2017:

An ISIS-linked group of hackers has released a “kill list” of 8,786 names and addresses in the U.S. and U.K., calling for lone wolf attacks on the targets in a chilling video posted online.

The hackers, known as the United Cyber Caliphate (UCC), orders those watching to: “Kill them wherever you find them.”

In a posting Sunday night on Telegram — a private messaging app — the group first warned that a release of the names was imminent.

About 10 minutes later, the hackers posted the actual list, which includes names of seemingly random inviduals from primarily the U.S. and U.K., according to the terror monitor SITE.

“More than 7,000 of the names were from the U.S.,” a source from the cyber department at SITE told Fox News on Wednesday.

Londonistan: 423 New Mosques, 500 Closed Churches, tell story of rise of Islam, collapse of Christianity in England

How long before the black flag of Islam flies over Buckingham Palace? The advance of Islam and the collapse of England and the West is accelerating, and will soon pass a tipping point, shocking the world.

The below report on the Islamization of London is hardly surprising to regular readers of this blog, as these related posts document:

Gatestone Institute: 423 New Mosques, 500 Closed Churches in London
by Breitbart London, April 2, 2017:

Muslim Friday Prayers in London, circa 2013.
The Gatestone Institute reports Sunday on the striking rate of closures of churches in the United Kingdom’s capital city, a trend mirrored elsewhere in Europe, and the blooming number of mosques that have been established in their stead.

Reporting on the change in religious observation in London, the Gatestone Institute writes:

“London is more Islamic than many Muslim countries put together”, according to Maulana Syed Raza Rizvi, one of the Islamic preachers who now lead “Londonistan”, as the journalist Melanie Phillips has called the English capital. No, Rizvi is not a right-wing extremist. Wole Soyinka, a Nobel Laureate for Literature, was less generous; he called the UK “a cesspit for Islamists”.
“Terrorists can not stand London multiculturalism”, London’s mayor Sadiq Khan said after the recent deadly terror attack at Westminster. The opposite is true: British multiculturalists are feeding Islamic fundamentalism. Above all, Londonistan, with its new 423 mosques, is built on the sad ruins of English Christianity.

Lenten Pop-Quiz #2: What Orthodox Saint condemned Islam as 'the abomination of desolation clearly foretold to us by the prophets'?

He also wrote of the Muslims: "Those God-fighters boast of prevailing over all, assiduously and unrestrainably imitating their leader, who is the devil..."

Hint: He was the author of the Life of St Mary of Egypt, and was Patriarch of Jerusalem during the First Wave of Islamic Jihad immediately after the death of Muhammad.

The Answer:  St Sophronius (commemorated March 11)

St Sophronius' descriptions of barbaric Muslim attacks on churches, monasteries, villages and fields, of their tearing down of the crosses and blaspheming the Name of Jesus Christ, give the lie to revisionist histories foisted today on our schoolchildren and in our universities that claim Islam advanced peacefully in its early years, spread by Muslim preachers and welcomed by local populations.

No, Sophronius and contemporaries also writing in the seventh century make clear that Islam spread by the sword, just as is commanded in the Koran:

Fight against those who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth [i.e. Islam] among the people of the Book [Jews and Christians], until they pay the jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. (Sura 9:29)
Kill the mushrikun [unbelievers] wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and prepare for them each and every ambush. (Sura 9:5)
I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes. (Sura 8:12)
Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into the enemies of Allah and your enemies. (Sura 8:60)

St Sophronius set an eternal example for all Christians (but especially for clergy and bishops) by bravely confessing Jesus Christ and the True Faith during the horrific invasions by the bloodthirsty Arab Muslims in the late 630s following the death of Muhammad. His efforts to ensure peace and preserve the churches and shrines of the Holy City are recounted in this vignette from his Life:

"Toward the end of his life, St Sophronius and his flock lived through a two year siege of Jerusalem by the Moslems. Worn down by hunger, the Christians finally agreed to open the city gates, on the condition that the enemy spare the holy places. But this condition was not fulfilled, and St Sophronius died in grief over the desecration of the Christian holy places." (Source)
