Convicted Jihadist Rises to Top Post at London Southwark Council

Convicted jihadist, Mulumebet Girma, was given a "top job" at the Southwark Council in London in 2013. She served time for assisting in the attempted murder of Tube passengers in 2005. Here's the Sky News coverage.

Girma was fired from her post at the council after her involvement in the terror plot came to light.

In a statement, Girma claims she told her employer that she had been jailed. Yet, seemingly, no one could be bothered to run a proper background check or type her name into a DuckDuckGo or Google search bar. A simple search would have uncovered her role in the July 21, 2005 terror plot with her brother-in-law, Hussein Osman.

It took me less than 20 seconds before finishing my morning coffee to find her very own Wikipedia page. Get an eyeful.

The face of your oppressor. Girma on the cover of the council magazine.
According to the BBC's report, Girma's position at the council did not give her access to police watch list data. Access to such information would put Londoners directly in harm's way if she were still waging political jihad. Even if she repented of her involvement in the 2005 terror plot there's still the risk of her being "gotten to" by those itching to bring Londoners into submission.

That said, The Sun reports that she controlled a database that listed individuals with potential "links to terrorism..."

What more can be said about this precarious situation? London has a habit of hiring negligent and/or degenerate elements to their housing councils. Remember the infamous Rotherham rape gang cover-up? PC culture seems to grease the gears of council business.

American Mideast Coalition of Muslims, Christians, Yazidis and others endorse Donald J. Trump for President

True moderates, including moderate Muslims, endorse Donald Trump and his policies on the Middle East and national security:

"Where Obama has shunned moderate, secular voices in the region and has partnered with radicals (such as the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamist regime of Iran), Donald Trump promises to do exactly the opposite: to support the moderates and oppose the radicals. This change in direction was endorsed vociferously and cheerfully by the participants – Sunni and Shi’a Muslims, Assyrian, Chaldean, Coptic and Maronite Christians, Yazidis, Kurds, Jews and Africans."

Timothy Furnish, PhD, on Fox News Special: 'War Stories: Fighting ISIS'

Tune in this weekend and set your DVR to catch Islam scholar, historian and author, Dr. Tim Furnish, on a serious, in-depth report on the Islamic State and Islam's War Against the West.

Airs Friday March 25 at 10 p.m. ET on Fox News Channel

Encore presentations:
Saturday, March 26 at 1 a.m., 5 a.m., 5 p.m. and midnight ET
Sunday, March 27 at 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET

As Europe reels from the coordinated bombing attacks by terrorists in Belgium, the civilized world continues to face the real challenges of fighting Islamic extremism, whether it be on a battlefield or hiding and festering in a family neighborhood.

Here in America, with investigations ongoing into ISIS in all 50 states, this new episode of "War Stories" goes deep inside the confrontation between moderate Muslims and the Islamic State's extremist ideology.

Timothy Furnish, PhD (Photo: Fox News)
Timothy Furnish's position is particularly strong, as you can also tell from his other media appearances, including this recent interview on The Hard Line (NewsMax TV) with Ed Berliner. Dr. Furnish affirms that the Islamic State (ISIS), Jihad and Shariah doctrines ARE mainstream Islam. As he has emphatically written elsewhere:

"The fact remains that in the Qur'an, Hadiths, career of Muhammad, all five schools of fiqh (jurisprudence) and in Islamic history jihad is MAINSTREAM..."

Timothy R. Furnish holds a PhD in Islamic History (Ohio State, 2001), and having studied the Islamic source texts in Arabic, Persian and Turkish, is recognized as an expert authority, working as a consultant on the topics of Islam, Mahdism, Jihadism, Shi`ism, other Islamic sects, the Caliphate and Eschatology in general.  He served in the military as an Arabic linguist in the 101st Airborne Division. He is the author of Sects, Lies and the Caliphate: 10 Years of Observations on Islam, and Ten Years' Captivation with the Mahdi's Camps, and operates the MahdiWatch blog.

Poll of U.S. Muslims Reveals Ominous Levels Of Support For Shariah, Jihad

"Nearly one-fifth of Muslim respondents said that the use of violence in the United States is justified in order to make shariah the law of the land in this country... Roughly 300,000 Muslims living in the United States believe that shariah is 'Allah’s law that Muslims must follow and impose worldwide by Jihad'.”

Center for Security Policy, June 23, 2015

According to a new nationwide online survey (Below) of 600 Muslims living in the United States, significant minorities embrace supremacist notions that could pose a threat to America’s security and its constitutional form of government.

The numbers of potential jihadists among the majority of Muslims who appear not to be sympathetic to such notions raise a number of public policy choices that warrant careful consideration and urgent debate, including: the necessity for enhanced surveillance of Muslim communities; refugee resettlement, asylum and other immigration programs that are swelling their numbers and density; and the viability of so-called “countering violent extremism” initiatives that are supposed to stymie radicalization within those communities.

Overall, the survey, which was conducted by The Polling Company for the Center for Security Policy (CSP), suggests that a substantial number of Muslims living in the United States see the country very differently than does the population overall.  The sentiments of the latter were sampled in late May in another CSP-commissioned Polling Company nationwide survey.

According to the just-released survey of Muslims, a majority (51%) agreed that “Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to shariah.”  When that question was put to the broader U.S. population, the overwhelming majority held that shariah should not displace the U.S. Constitution (86% to 2%).

More than half (51%) of U.S. Muslims polled also believe either that they should have the choice of American or shariah courts, or that they should have their own tribunals to apply shariah. Only 39% of those polled said that Muslims in the U.S. should be subject to American courts.

DABIQ: Islamic State could transport Nuke from Nigeria into U.S. through Mexico

ISIS op-ed "claims it could transport a nuclear device in the same way illicit drugs are smuggled into Europe through West Africa, adding that Boko Haram’s presence in Nigeria could facilitate the transaction."

by Edwin Mora, Breitbart News, June 3, 2015

The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL), in the latest edition of its propaganda magazine, indicated that it could purchase a nuclear weapon in Pakistan, take it to Nigeria, and then smuggle it into the U.S. through Mexico by using existing trafficking networks in Latin America.

In an op-ed article published in the ninth edition of ISIS’ Dabiq magazine released in late May, the jihadist group claims it could transport a nuclear device in the same way illicit drugs are smuggled into Europe through West Africa, adding that Boko Haram’s presence in Nigeria could facilitate the transaction.

The Nigeria-based Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram, pledged allegiance to ISIS in March.

In March, Gen. John Kelly, commander of U.S. Southern Command (Southcom), warned that Islamic terrorist groups such as ISIS could exploit the capabilities and knowledge of Latin American smuggling networks to infiltrate the U.S. through Mexico and possibly bring in weapons of mass destruction.

ISIS Excels in 'Marketing Campaign' for US Recruits: Report

Young men and women are "responding to the call to join violent jihad abroad at an alarming rate." —Assistant Attorney General John Carlin, chief of the Justice Department's National Security Division

by Melanie Batley, NewsMax — April 27, 2015

The Islamic State is conducting an unprecedented terrorist recruitment campaign that is successfully penetrating the United States, say U.S. law enforcement officials and terror analysts, according to USA Today.

The militant group is using a sophisticated set of social media tools to gain personal "peer-to-peer" communication which is proving effective in drawing recruits from urban metropolitan areas to deep within America, a senior law enforcement official told the newspaper.

"This is not so much a recruitment effort as it is a global marketing campaign, beyond anything that al-Qaeda has ever done,'' the official said.

Buchanan: Is Putin Worse Than Stalin?

Sober reasoning and understanding of historical context from Pat Buchanan.

Is Putin Worse Than Stalin?
by Patrick J. Buchanan — Townhall — July 25, 2014

In 1933, the Holodomor was playing out in Ukraine.

After the "kulaks," the independent farmers, had been liquidated in the forced collectivization of Soviet agriculture, a genocidal famine was imposed on Ukraine through seizure of her food production.

Estimates of the dead range from two to nine million souls.

Walter Duranty of the New York Times, who called reports of the famine "malignant propaganda," won a Pulitzer for his mendacity.

In November 1933, during the Holodomor, the greatest liberal of them all, FDR, invited Foreign Minister Maxim Litvinov to receive official U.S. recognition of his master Stalin's murderous regime.

On August 1, 1991, just four months before Ukraine declared its independence of Russia, George H. W. Bush warned Kiev's legislature:

"Americans will not support those who seek independence in order to replace a far-off tyranny with a local despotism. They will not aid those who promote a suicidal nationalism based upon ethnic hatred."

In short, Ukraine's independence was never part of America's agenda. From 1933 to 1991, it was never a U.S. vital interest. Bush I was against it.

When then did this issue of whose flag flies over Donetsk or Crimea become so crucial that we would arm Ukrainians to fight Russian-backed rebels and consider giving a NATO war guarantee to Kiev, potentially bringing us to war with a nuclear-armed Russia?

From FDR on, U.S. presidents have felt that America could not remain isolated from the rulers of the world's largest nation.

Ike invited Khrushchev to tour the USA after he had drowned the Hungarian Revolution in blood. After Khrushchev put missiles in Cuba, JFK was soon calling for a new detente at American University.

Within weeks of Warsaw Pact armies crushing the Prague Spring in August 1968, LBJ was seeking a summit with Premier Alexei Kosygin.

After excoriating Moscow for the downing of KAL 007 in 1983, that old Cold Warrior Ronald Reagan was fishing for a summit meeting.

The point: Every president from FDR through George H. W. Bush, even after collisions with Moscow far more serious than this clash over Ukraine, sought to re-engage the men in the Kremlin.

Whatever we thought of the Soviet dictators who blockaded Berlin, enslaved Eastern Europe, put rockets in Cuba and armed Arabs to attack Israel, Ike, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan and Bush 1 all sought to engage Russia's rulers.

Avoidance of a catastrophic war demanded engagement.

How then can we explain the clamor of today's U.S. foreign policy elite to confront, isolate, and cripple Russia, and make of Putin a moral and political leper with whom honorable statesmen can never deal?

What has Putin done to rival the forced famine in Ukraine that starved to death millions, the slaughter of the Hungarian rebels or the Warsaw Pact's crushing of Czechoslovakia?

In Ukraine, Putin responded to a U.S.-backed coup, which ousted a democratically elected political ally of Russia, with a bloodless seizure of the pro-Russian Crimea where Moscow has berthed its Black Sea fleet since the 18th century. This is routine Big Power geopolitics.

And though Putin put an army on Ukraine's border, he did not order it to invade or occupy Luhansk or Donetsk. Does this really look like a drive to reassemble either the Russian Empire of the Romanovs or the Soviet Empire of Stalin that reached to the Elbe?

As for the downing of the Malaysian airliner, Putin did not order that. Sen. John Cornyn says U.S. intelligence has not yet provided any "smoking gun" that ties the missile-firing to Russia.

MALAYSIAN AIRLINER DOWNED OVER UKRAINE - UPDATE AND ANALYSIS

Though off-topic for this blog, the downing of a Malaysian Airlines 777 flight with nearly 300 killed over eastern Ukraine is another shocking event in that theatre, and has enormous import for relations between Russia and the West. The US Media is pointing at Putin, but there are expert analysts out there who are drawing on intelligence sources and European and British reporting to present a more complex picture hardly favorable to the US and NATO.

Here are a few linked headlines from Land Destroyer Report, with intro paragraphs. Do follow up and explore the complete articles if you have any interest in this crisis.

Kiev Losing, Sanctions Flopped, Airliner Down, War Back On?  - July 18, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci - NEO) - With Kiev's forces being encircled and decimated in eastern Ukraine, western Ukrainians in Kiev protesting the war, and US sanctions receiving global ridicule as feckless - the downing of a Malaysian Boeing 777 airliner with over 280 on board in eastern Ukraine - allegedly shot down over a conflict zone - will undoubtedly be exploited by NATO to vilify Kiev's opponents, particularly fighters in the east and Russia who NATO accuses of "destabilizing eastern Ukraine." ...

'Muslims of the Americas' Depositions Reveal New Enclaves in New York, Michigan, California, Alaska

  • See also this recent post on Dearbornistan.
  • Lawsuit to stop book exposing Muslim enclaves backfires; depositions document 22 Islamic communes around the country and others in Canada.
  • 'Twilight in America' authors cleared, case against them dismissed, book available in print and ebook formats; details Muslim compounds preparing to wage jihad here in America.
  • Extensive info and links in story below.

by Ryan Mauro, The Clarion Project — May 4, 2014

The revelations came during depositions of three senior officials of the group after MOA unsuccessfully sued two of their critics.

Entrance to Islamberg, NY
A senior official of the Muslims of the Americas/Jamaat ul-Fuqra (MOA), a terror-linked group, said during a deposition that it has a “community” outside Anchorage, Alaska. Officials also confirmed the existence of three communes in New York, California and Michigan that have yet to be publicly pinpointed.

Lawsuit against this book backfires,
reveals even more Muslim jihad compounds.
The comments came during depositions of three senior MOA officials after the group sued two critics, Martin Mawyer and Patti Pierucci, for $30 million for their book about MOA titled Twilight in America. The judge dismissed the lawsuit last week. Astonishingly, MOA Deputy Director Hussein Adams, the son of terrorist Barry Adams, admitted he had no information to show that the defendants lacked a reasonable basis for their claims.

The MOA officials repeatedly denied being a terrorist organization, but would not provide basic details about the group. Adams was especially secretive, claiming that the group had virtually no records and that he didn’t even know the names of those on Islamberg’s town council or who was paying the bills.

MOA says it has 22 “Islamic villages” around the country, including the one named “Mahmoudberg” in Sweeny, Texas that was identified by the Clarion Project.

Other pinpointed communes include Islamberg in Hancock, NY; Holy Islamville in York County, South Carolina;  Islamville in Dover, Tennessee; Hasanville in Barry’s Bay, Ontario, Canada;  Madinah Village near Commerce, Georgia; Aliville in Odum, Georgia; Ahmadabad West in Red House, Virginia and one with an unknown name in Meherrin, Virginia.

Deputy Director Hussein Adams said that MOA has a “community” near Anchorage, Alaska. This is the first time that a MOA enclave has been reported in the state.

Post 9/11, Muslim Brotherhood Groups in U.S. Receive Gov’t Funds

Yet another exposé of the federal government's misuse of taxpayer dollars to advance Islam, right here in America. The day is soon coming when we Christians, in order to keep our conscience clean before God, will have to make difficult choices regarding compliance with income tax requirements.

Our is a criminal, renegade government, brazenly using taxpayer money to advance the religious and political agenda of Islam at home and abroad, as well as funding abortion-on-demand through 'Obamacare' and support of Planned Parenthood, same-sex 'marriage', persecution of Christians in abroad through support of Islamist extremist groups, and cultural warfare against Orthodox Christian nations. The United States is openly at war against Orthodox Christianity and traditional Christians of all confessions. It will only get worse. Let us strengthen ourselves for the trials ahead.

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven." (MT 5:10)

"No wonder, then, that it is so hard to be Christian—it is not hard it is impossible. No one can knowingly accept a way of life which, the more truly it is lived, leads more surely to one's own destruction. And that is way we constantly rebel, try to make life easier, try to be half-Christian, try to make the best of both worlds. We must ultimately choose—our felicity lies in one world or the other, not in both. God give us the strength to pursue the path of crucifixion; there is no other way to be Christian." — Fr. Seraphim Rose (†1982)

Post 9/11, Muslim Brotherhood Groups in U.S. Receive Gov’t Funds
by Ryan Mauro, The Clarion Project  — May 1, 2014

Not only is taxpayer money is going where it shouldn’t, but the gov't’s broken vetting system allows the Islamists to have undue influence.

FBI officers outside the Holy Land Foundation.U.S. Muslim Brotherhood front groups were named as unindicted co-conspirators in the the Holy Land terror funding trial. Still, they continue to receive government money. (Photo: © Reuters)

A review of federal spending by the Clarion Project found that the U.S. government has engaged in financial transactions with groups with extremist backgrounds and Muslim Brotherhood links in the years since 9/11.

The U.S. government website, USASpending.gov, shows that the Defense Department had eight transactions with the Kansas chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS) from 2006 to 2009 totaling $24,600. The listed contracting agency is the Department of the Army and the contracting office is Fort Leavenworth.

Two years before the first recorded transaction, a Chicago Tribune investigation clearly identified MAS as a Muslim Brotherhood front. In 2008, federal prosecutors stated in a court filing in a terrorism trial that MAS “was founded as the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.” In 2012, an admitted member of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood leadership and convicted terrorist named Abdurrahman Alamaoudi testified that “Everyone knows that MAS is the Muslim Brotherhood.”

The government website also shows that post-9/11 funding for law enforcement training and educational services was awarded to the Council on American-Islamic Relations CAIR), Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), three groups that the Justice Department later labeled unindicted co-conspirators in a Hamas-financing trial. The Justice Department also listed them as U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entities.

Tony Blair: Fighting Islamism – A Defining Challenge of Our Time

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair gave a landmark speech this week calling on the world to unite against Islamism. The speech is being compared to Winston Churchill's famous 1946 warning about the descent of the Iron Curtain. Key excerpt from Blair's speech:
"There is not a region of the world not adversely affected by Islamism and the ideology is growing..."

Tony Blair: Fighting Islamism – A Defining Challenge of Our Time
The Clarion Project — April 24, 2014

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair delivering his keynote address at Bloomberg
Tony Blair, the Former British Prime Minister, delivered a keynote speech at Bloomberg HQ in London entitled 'Why the Middle East Still Matters.' In it he described radical Islam as the greatest threat facing the world today.

He argued "there are four reasons why the Middle East remains of central importance and cannot be relegated to the second order."

The first three: oil, proximity to Europe and Israel, whilst important, were not the focus of the speech. Blair rapidly moved on to the fourth and most important reason: Islamic extremism also known as Islamism.

He identifies the conflict in the Middle East as one between an open and tolerant viewpoint and a fundamentalist Islamist ideology. He said "wherever you look – from Iraq to Libya to Egypt to Yemen to Lebanon to Syria and then further afield to Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan – this is the essential battle."

Addressing those who regard these conflicts as distinct he said "there is something frankly odd about the reluctance to accept what is so utterly plain: that they have in common a struggle around the issue of the rightful place of religion, and in particular Islam, in politics."

It is this central point that he hammered home again and again over the course of his 40 minute speech.

He argued that this struggle does not end at the borders of the region. Rather, "The reason this matters so much is that this ideology is exported around the world."

Seymour Hersh Unearths More Lies on Syria: Opposition Launched Sarin Attack

This reporting establishes a clear link to the 9/11/12 raid on our Benghazi compound, and reveals the Benghazi installation as a front for running U.S. weapons to al-Qaeda linked Syrian jihadists. Obama's support for the jihadist extremists in Syria includes tacit support for Turkey's schemes, including the use of chemical weapons last year.

The Red Line and the Rat Line
Seymour M. Hersh on Obama, Erdoğan and the Syrian rebels
Il Faro Sul Mondo — April 7, 2014 — h/t Atlas Shrugs

Investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has a second fascinating essay that rewrites the official record of the sarin gas attack on Ghouta, near Damascus, in August last year. As usual, Hersh uses his sources in the US security establishment to throw light on what really took place. The bottom line: Turkey was almost certainly the party responsible for the attack, hoping it would force Obama to honour his threatened “red line” if Assad used chemical weapons. Was the Assad regime to be brought down by a US military campaign, Turkey assumed it would be able to turn Syria into a client state.

Like the earlier article, this one will probably gain very little attention. It is published in the obscure UK literary publication the London Review of Books. Presumably like last time, Hersh could not find a mainstream publication willing to take it – and I’m guessing that, like last time, these stunningly important revelations will be shunned by the liberal media. Instead, it will be consigned to the memory hole, along with so much other evidence of western crimes against humanity. Pundits and analysts will continue to tell us confidently that Assad carried out the Ghouta attack, oblivious to Hersh’s findings.

The reason the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Guardian have been studiously ignoring Hersh’s investigations on this, it seems to me, is that they show the Obama administration’s foreign policy is just as criminal as the previous Bush White House’s.

Here is a summary of Hersh’s main findings:

* Obama’s sudden climb-down on his threatened military strike against Assad was in part forced on him by a chemical analysis of samples of the sarin used in Ghouta, which showed that its signature did not match that of the stockpiles held by the Assad regime.

* Despite US claims, the White House knew that the Syrian rebels had developed chemical weapons production facilities. UN investigators thought the Syrian opposition were the most likely culprits behind earlier chemical weapons attacks, in April and May 2013.

The American and British intelligence communities had been aware since the spring of 2013 that some rebel units in Syria were developing chemical weapons. On 20 June analysts for the US Defense Intelligence Agency issued a highly classified five-page ‘talking points’ briefing for the DIA’s deputy director, David Shedd, which stated that al-Nusra maintained a sarin production cell.”

American Muslims and Mosques Caught in Jihad Terror Plots

It would be nice if Islam were just another relatively benign monotheistic heresy merely challenging Christianity on the theological level, and articles on the abduction and ransom of 14th century Saint Gregory Palamas by Turkish Muslims, or on 7th century Saint Sophronius and his eyewitness descriptions of the Muslim devastation of the Christian churches and community of Jerusalem, were merely relating arcane fragments of history which Islam has moved beyond as it has matured into a modern 'religion of peace'.

However, this is simply not the case, as weekly and sometimes daily news reports prove time and time again.

Muslim communities themselves are often part of the problem, as four separate studies over the past fifteen years have consistently shown that 80% of mosques in America teach and advocate jihad and the overthrow of America and the replacement of the Constitution with Sharia law. Recent Pew Research polls show 75% of Muslims in Europe believe there can only be one interpretation of the Quran, and 65% believe Islamic law supersedes secular law. The numbers in America are hardly more encouraging:

There are reasons to believe that not all American Muslims are enthusiastic about religious liberty...  For example, a 2012 poll conducted by Wenzel Strategies found that fifty-eight percent of Muslim-American citizens believe that criticism of Islam or Muhammad should not be allowed under the U.S. Constitution. Forty-six percent said that Americans who criticize or parody Islam should face criminal charges, while one in eight respondents felt that such crimes merit the death penalty. Another forty-two percent said that Christians do not have the right to evangelize Muslims. (from William Kilpatrick, Has the Church in the U.S. Succumbed to the Charms of Islam?)

These are extremely ominous numbers which paint a picture of a hostile, alien culture in our midst, worse so in Europe.

Polls and studies attempt to trace the contours of the Muslim American mindset, but when deeply held beliefs manifest in behavior, the threat to society is seen to be real and serious. Here are some current stories of American Muslims striving to literally follow the example of Muhammad and the commands of the Quran:

Counterjihad, Solzhenitsyn and Righteous Indignation

This is a significant article, which has a pointed message for Christians and our responsibility to resist the onslaught of Islam:

Christians' support will eventually come to the Counterjihad as it came to the issues of abolishing slavery, of civil rights and of ending the Soviet empire. Our Counterjihad is a matter of 'charity and justice'.

It is worth remembering that St John the Baptist rebuked King Herod for his illicit affair with the wife of his brother. 'Speaking truth to power' was one of the core principles of the Byzantine Christian empire. Links on the left panel of this blog point to special posts on great saints of the Church, who fearlessly denounced Islam as a false religion and heresy, and openly condemn the violent, twisted character of Muhammad which set Islam in motion.

We don't need to pick fights or deliberately stir up hostilities, but we Christians today must stand for truth, justice, and specifically for the exalted Christian anthropology around which all people, Christian or not, should be able to rally to repudiate and defeat the evil of Islam.

But we will never convince or inspire anyone if we ourselves are not striving to absorb and live in our own lives the divine vision of man's destiny in Christ. The exalted call which God has given to mankind is the most radical paradigm shift of human history. It is contained in the Incarnation, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection and the Glorification of the God-Man Jesus Christ. We are called to abide in Him, to become like Him, to become by grace all that He is by nature.

If Christians can't make the case for the absolute criminalization and censure of Islamic jihad, no one can.

Counterjihad, Solzhenitsyn and Righteous Indignation
by Kenneth Roberts, Political Islam — Feb 27, 2014

We in the Counterjihad need to show more righteous indignation, as did Martin Luther King, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Alexander Solzhenitsyn in their various righteous struggles. We should study their examples to see what our approach should be to defeat political Islam.

The Counterjihad is, in fact, young, only about 13 years old. We have so much to learn about getting our point across effectively and to make it reality.

Why would our struggle be safe or easy? After all, it wasn't easy for the anti-slavery abolitionist movement or for the American civil rights movement or for the democracy and freedom movement behind the iron curtain of the evil Soviet empire. Nor did it seem obvious or easy to the Abolitionists or to King's civil rights marchers or to the Samizdat movement in the USSR as to what they should do next! One thing that is common to those three struggles is the unrelenting moral indignation that led them to victory. Righteous, moral indignation was their strongest method.

The FBI’s Two Faces on US Terror Compounds (with video)

via Creeping Sharia — Feb 22, 2014

Patrick Poole (@pspoole) follows up on Ryan Mauro’s expose on Mahmoudberg and the Islamic groups behind it. via The FBI’s Two Faces on US Terror Compounds

During the 1980s and 1990s, federal law enforcement authorities considered Jamaat al-Fuqra to be one of the most active domestic terrorist groups in the country.

Operating in the U.S. as “Muslims of America,” annual State Department terrorism reports up until Sept. 11, 2001 described the group as “an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence.” Dozens of Fuqra members have been arrested for more than a dozen murders, firebombings, gun running, drug trafficking, defrauding government agencies, amongst other crimes. In 1993, the Anti-Defamation League published a report chronicling the group’s continuing terror campaign.

But an ongoing ”For The Record” investigation has discovered that the FBI and other government agencies have been playing a longstanding double-game with Jamaat al-Fuqra.

Documents obtained from the FBI on al-Fuqra by national security analyst Ryan Mauro, through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request and first made public in this week’s episode of “For the Record,” show that at the same time that FBI special agents were picnicking and hosting award ceremonies with members of the group at their Hancock, N.Y. headquarters, internally the FBI continued to acknowledge that the group remained an active terrorist threat.

U.S. training Free Syrian Army in Jordan — a group that violently targets Christians

via Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch — Feb 7, 2014

The U.S.-backed Free Syrian Army — those are the “moderates,” you know. How moderate? This moderate: in July 2013, Free Syrian Army fighters entered the Christian village of Oum Sharshouh and began burning down houses and terrorizing the population, forcing 250 Christian families to flee the area. Worthy News reported that just two days later, Free Syrian Army rebels “targeted the residents of al-Duwayr/Douar, a Christian village close to the city of Homs and near Syria’s border with Lebanon….Around 350 armed militants forcefully entered the homes of Christian families who were all rounded-up in the main square of the village and then summarily executed.” And in September 2013, a day after Secretary of State John Kerry praised the Free Syrian Army as “a real moderate opposition,” the FSA took to the Internet to post videos of its attack on the ancient Syrian Christian city of Maaloula, one of the few places where Aramaic, the language of Jesus, is still spoken.

This is just the faction Obama is backing. This is America’s shame.

“West bankrolls Free Syrian Army fightback,” by Tom Coghlan and Norhan Keshik for The Times via The Australian, February 8:

THE West and Gulf states are funding a new military offensive by rebel forces around Damascus in an effort to throw the Assad regime on to the back foot before a second round of Syria peace talks.
The assault marks an attempt by the Free Syrian Army and its allies abroad to reassert control after months of rebel infighting.
The timing of the attack, codenamed “Geneva Horan”, comes amid fears Bashar al-Assad will give little ground at the negotiating table while he has the upper hand on the battlefield.
FSA forces yesterday posted online videos of rebel tanks, heavy mortars and rocket launchers pounding what were said to be government positions on highways near the town of Athman, north of the city of Daraa, close to the Jordanian border.

Obama: Islamic Terrorists Driven by Western 'Injustice'

Until the threat of Islamist ideology is accurately pinpointed as the problem, American foreign policy will be flawed.

News Analysis by Ryan Mauro, The Clarion Project — February 4, 2014

President Obama’s State of the Union gave us a look at the premises driving his foreign policy. It showed that he believes Islamic terrorists to be driven by frustration over perceived injustices at the hands of the West, rather than an ideology. It is because of this belief that he can promote the nuclear deal with Iran and depict the regime as a less threatening version of the Soviet Union.

Three key lines in the speech illustrated the fundamentals underlying the Obama Administration’s foreign policy.

First, Obama indicated that he sees terrorism-sponsoring Islamist regimes as comparable to the communists of the Cold War. Both are primarily motivated by power and wealth and are open to mutually-beneficial deals. He said:

“If John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan could negotiate with the Soviet Union, then surely a strong and confident America can negotiate with less powerful adversaries today.”

This comparison overlooks the ideological differences between the two. If the Iranian regime had purely selfish interests, it would not engage in its self-injuring, radical behavior. The preamble to its constitution would not state that its founding objective is “the establishment of a universal holy government and the downfall of all others.”

Muslim Brotherhood Leader Meets Obama in White House

One would think that the United States and the UK might keep the Muslim Brotherhood at a safe distance if not prosecute and outlaw it completely, especially after it was re-criminalized by the Egyptian government following its repressive sharia experiment and its murderous persecution of Coptic Christians. But no, Obama, Cameron and the West's Islamophilic governments continue their support for Muslim terrorist organizations at the expense of Christians in the Islamic world, even when they have proven links to Al Qaeda.

by Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon — February 5, 2014

A senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood was recently hosted at the White House for a meeting with President Barack Obama, prompting an outcry from critics of the global Islamist organization.

Anas Altikriti, a top British lobbyist for the Muslim Brotherhood whose father heads Iraq’s Muslim Brotherhood party, recently met with the president and Vice President Joe Biden as part of a delegation discussing problems in Iraq.

Altikriti, whose work has also been tied to Hamas, can be seen smiling in photos published by the White House as he stands next to Iraqi Parliament Speaker Usama al-Nujaifi, who is pictured shaking hands with President Obama in the White House’s Roosevelt Room. The meeting was first highlighted by the blog Harry’s Place.

The Obama administration has been criticized its outreach to the Muslim Brotherhood, the international Islamist organization whose members’ brief reign in Egypt was supported by the White House.

California: Snipers open fire on electrical substation, “most significant incident of domestic terrorism involving the grid that has ever occurred”

This definitely sounds like a carefully orchestrated attack, with special emphasis on response times by local police.  Also significant is that although it happened last April, it is only now being publicly reported, which may indicate some DHS, FBI or CIA oversight to leak information (or misinformation), perhaps to try to draw out the perps.

Combined with recent reports of Muslims arrested for a plot to sabotage a train from Canada into New York, and several Muslims arrested last year for trespassing after midnight at a Massachusetts water reservoir (here, here, here & here), and brazen statements recently by Iranian and Hizbollah leaders that they have targets inside the U.S. and agents ready to attack, casts a dark shadow.

These may all be isolated incidents, but then again, it seems as if they have been testing our infrastructure, civil defense, and response times for years, and especially so in the last two years.

California: Snipers open fire on electrical substation, “most significant incident of domestic terrorism involving the grid that has ever occurred”
JihadWatch — February 5, 2014

It happened last April, but we are only hearing about it now. Why is that? There have been no arrests and there are apparently no suspects, but it does appear to have been a carefully planned and coordinated attack. Said Mark Johnson, a former PG&E executive: “This wasn’t an incident where Billy-Bob and Joe decided, after a few brewskis, to come in and shoot up a substation. This was an event that was well thought out, well planned and they targeted certain components.” Were they jihadis? Possibly. Possibly not. Johnson also said: “My personal view is that this was a dress rehearsal.” If anyone was taking notes on how well the dress rehearsal went, it was Islamic jihadists.

“Sniper Attack On Calif. Power Station Raises Terrorism Fears,” by Mark Memmott for NPR, February 5:

Was an attack last April on an electric power station near San Jose, Calif., the work of vandals or something far more dangerous — domestic terrorism or a trial run by an individual or organization bent on damaging the nation’s electric grid?

The Wall Street Journal, picking up from an earlier report by Foreign Policy magazine, explores that question Wednesday in a long account about what happened at PG&E Corp.’s Metcalf transmission substation — an event that has received relatively little attention until now.

A new definition for al-Qaeda

By Katherine Zimmerman, Washington Post Opinion — h/t Act! for America
January 31, 2014

Katherine Zimmerman is a senior analyst at the American Enterprise Institute’s Critical Threats Project and authored the report “The al-Qaeda Network: A New Framework for Defining the Enemy.”

What exactly is al-Qaeda? And who cares? Confusion about how to define the terrorist group is rife. Was al-Qaeda involved in the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks in Benghazi, Libya , that left four Americans dead? The Obama administration says no. Are the groups proliferating around Africa and the Middle East really part of the al-Qaeda that toppled the World Trade Center and hit the Pentagon?

There is no simple answer. Al-Qaeda is a global terrorist organization that relies on secrecy to survive. Even al-Qaeda members are confused about each other’s status: The leader of the group in Yemen had to ask his Algerian counterpart for clarification about Ansar al-Din’s relationship to al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. The covert nature of the network intentionally obscures many relationships.

Here’s the problem: According to recently declassified testimony of Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, before the House Armed Services Committee in October, the U.S. military regards itself as legally barred from going after the perpetrators of the Benghazi attacks (and, presumably, others who attack Americans) unless they are affiliated with al-Qaeda. The Obama administration’s parsing of words to deny al-Qaeda’s direct involvement effectively precludes a military response in these situations.

But the United States can neither disrupt nor defend itself from an enemy it cannot define. Nor are we safer because of arbitrary definitions. The question demands an answer: What is al-Qaeda?
