Maryland: Mega mosque project raising money with terror-linked cleric

Islam continues to advance in the area surrounding Washington D.C.

Creeping Sharia — 11/29/2013

We told you about this mega mosque complex being built in Maryland via “Largest Islamic Project in America…could change landscape for years to come.”

After more than one year of feasability studies and discussions with county officials and neighbors, Dar-us-Salaam submitted its application to Howard County for conditional use to operate an educational and religious campus on a 66-acre property in Cooksville, Maryland on November 6, 2013.

Canada: $15M mega mosque with 100-foot minaret towers to change eastern gateway to Oakville

Mosques are outposts for the advancement of Islam. This is civilizational jihad, following Muhammad's example.

Creeping Sharia — 11/30/2013

Officials with World Islamic Mission (WIM) Canada say their planned Islamic Centre will be big — and will dramatically change the landscape of one of the eastern gateways to Oakville.

They believe what they’re about to build on Ninth Line south of Dundas Street West will also be an “architect landmark” and a “state-of-the art” project for the town.

“We are building a landmark project, a majestic project that all of us in Oakville will be proud of,” said Mohamed Farouk, who heads the construction team for the new Masjid Noor-UL-Haram.

“Not only Muslims, but all people, will look at this architecturally-beautiful building and say, ‘Wow.’ It will add to and enhance the landscape of Oakville.”

Confident the Town of Oakville will issue their long-awaited building permits within the next several months, officials are hopeful construction will begin in 2014, once the initial funding of $2 million is raised from their worshippers for the project that could top $15 million by the time all phases are complete.

Eventually, the three-storey centre, which includes a 21-metre high mosque dome, four minaret towers rising 30 metres (100 feet), two full-size gymnasiums, dressing rooms and meeting rooms, will rise on the 11 acres of land bought for $780,000 in 1998 on the west side of Ninth Line, just north of the current 5 Drive-In. It will replace the 3,200-sq.-ft. bungalow currently used by worshippers.

Minaret built in Georgian village at night

Tbilisi, November 29, Interfax - A metal minaret was built in the village of Chela, Agiden District of Georgia, in the early hours of Thursday.

The construction of the minaret was authorized by the local authorities and took place under the protection of the police, who kept locals who were protesting the opening of a mosque in the village, away from the construction site, the Georgian media reported.

Several dozen Muslim families who were transferred there from Ajaria under the Soviets live in Chela. The minaret was installed near the house of one of those families. An attempt to build a minaret, which was brought to the village form Turkey, was disrupted by locals several months ago. That drew criticism from European bureaucratic structures, which said minorities were persecuted in Georgia.

"The village of Chela is a place where Georgians shed their blood in the fight for their Orthodox faith for centuries. The construction of a minaret in this historical village is insulting to us. It's Turkish expansion, it's an order from the European Union," local Priest David Isakadze told reporters.

Angola reportedly bans Islam, destroys mosques

Jihad Watch — 11/24/2013

Destruction of an Angolan minaret

This is extraordinarily strange news, given that the world is racing in the other direction, to accommodate and appease Islam. It will be interesting to see, if these reports turn out to be accurate, how the mainstream media and Islamic supremacist groups will find a way to accuse the Angolans of "racism." In any case, clearly this is a national security issue, with Islamic supremacists and jihadists wreaking havoc in Nigeria and spreading elsewhere in Sub-Saharan Africa. There is no way in Angola any more than there is anywhere else to distinguish jihadis in Angola from the peaceful Muslims among whom they move, organize and recruit, and clearly this measure is designed to stop that activity. However, censure from the UN and the world "human rights" community will probably soon compel Angola to change its stance, and allow the jihadis free rein.

"Angola Bans Islam, Destroys Mosques,"
from OnIslam, November 24:

LUANDA – According to several Angolan newspapers, Angola has become the first country in the world to ban Islam and Muslims, taking first measures by destroying mosques in the country.

“The process of legalization of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, their mosques would be closed until further notice,” Rosa Cruz e Silva, the Angolan Minister of Culture, was quoted by Agence Ecofin on Friday, November 22.

Protesters in Georgia try to stop construction of minaret

Mosques and minarets are hugely symbolic for Muslims, and are foci for Islamic supremacism and open jihad, as is clearly seen in this quote:

The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers… — Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Turkey

A group of Orthodox Christians blocked a road in Georgia on Thursday to prevent the return of the metal skeleton of a minaret to the village from where it had been removed for an alleged customs formality.

The metal frame was made in Turkey, imported last month and installed in a mosque that was opened recently in the private house of Jambul Abuladze in the village of Chela, near the town of Akhaltsikhe. On Tuesday, the Revenue Service had it dismantled it and taken to Tbilisi for a formality that had allegedly not been performed during customs control in July.

The frame was on its way back to Chela when a group of people from Akhaltsikhe blocked the road it was being transported on.

"In many democratic countries it is forbidden to put up minarets, from which a mullah calls Muslims to prayer for the entire neighborhood to hear. Why shouldn't there be such a ban in Orthodox Georgia? There should be a referendum on the issue of construction of minarets in Georgia. No one should be allowed to put them up at their homes if they like to," one of the protesters, Oleg Sandroshvili, told reporters.

Georgian media said there were police on the protest site.
